WHEREAS, the Town of Franklin has the authority granted in 24, V.S.A. § 1971 and 2291 (1)(4) and (5), the powers to adopt, amend, repeal, and enforce ordinances to regulate traffic and devices.

On November 16, 2022 the Franklin Selectboard approved the amendments to the stop sign and other traffic control devices ordinance for the Town of Franklin. The full text is available for review at the Town Clerk’s office, 5167 Main St, Franklin, Vermont as required by V.S.A., Title 24, Section 1972 a concise summary of the ordinance is being published herewith:

The purpose of this ordinance is to regulate traffic in order to protect the public health, safety and welfare.

This ordinance shall take effect 60 days (January 16, 2023) following adoption by the selectboard, unless five percent of the voters petition the legislative body of the clerk of the municipality within 45 days of January 2, 2023 for a vote on the question of disapproving the ordinance. Comment on the Draft SFY 2024 Clean Water Budget

October 24 – November 22, 2022

Vermont’s Clean Water Board is asking the public to weigh in on how they would like to prioritize approximately $50.6 million, available through the State Fiscal Year 2024 Clean Water Budget, to clean up water pollution in Vermont’s lakes, streams, and wetlands.

The public comment period runs from October 24th through November 22nd. Weigh in by:

  • Completing this brief online questionnaire by November 22nd, 2022 at 4 p.m. and/or

  • Attending the November 2, 2022 Public Hearing (details below).

Prior to commenting, the public is invited and encouraged to learn more about Vermont’s clean water funding, the annual budget process, and the proposed State Fiscal Year 2024 Clean Water Budget by visiting the Clean Water Board webpage.
