TOWN OF FRANKLIN
WHEREAS, the Town of Franklin has the authority granted in 24, V.S.A. § 1971 and 2291 (1)(4) and (5), the powers to adopt, amend, repeal, and enforce ordinances to regulate traffic and devices.
On November 16, 2022 the Franklin Selectboard approved the amendments to the stop sign and other traffic control devices ordinance for the Town of Franklin. The full text is available for review at the Town Clerk’s office, 5167 Main St, Franklin, Vermont as required by V.S.A., Title 24, Section 1972 a concise summary of the ordinance is being published herewith:
The purpose of this ordinance is to regulate traffic in order to protect the public health, safety and welfare.
ARTICLE 6: SPEED REGULATIONS

This ordinance shall take effect 60 days (January 16, 2023) following adoption by the selectboard, unless five percent of the voters petition the legislative body of the clerk of the municipality within 45 days of January 2, 2023 for a vote on the question of disapproving the ordinance.
